Bummer :(
I am waiting for the OA invite as well. Waiting sucks.
That really sucks but isn't surprising. I took the German test...granted it had been a while since I had studied it but my grandfather did start speaking it to me when I was 4.
In the conversational part, I was telling him about how I had been an archaeologist when he suddenly asked me a question totally off topic. I looked at him and he asked if I understood. I said yes, I understood, I just didn't know why he had switched the subject so abruptly.
All of this was in German.
I got a 0/+1.
He told me he was certain that if I studied in his department, it would all come back to me quickly...some departments like to have their stamp on you...
Good luck with getting the offer for the OA anyway! My fingers are crossed for y'all!
What is UP with the German testers? I'm so sorry to hear this after all the effort and time your husband put into it. I know my husband is going to be bummed about this too.
I'm so very sorry to hear about the German test. There have been so many people I have spoken to who are fluent (ie, they grew up speaking a language, or speak it at home now) who have gotten 2's on the full formal language test at FSI. Part of it is that they want you to be able to speak on a truly professional level, and a lot of people tend to speak at a conversational or colloquial level. But, I think a lot of it is just that this whole testing thing can just be crazy and arbitrary.
Hang in there. If he wants it, he'll get there. There were a thousand points where I thought I would never get here, and by putting one foot in front of another, here I am. And, it is totally worth it.

Oh, I am so sorry!
He may still get called of the register and good for him for starting a second candidacy! Best of luck with the OA!!!
CRAP.
I'm so sorry. I was so hoping for good news for you guys.
Big hug.
I'm so sorry. That bites the big one. He'll make it to the OA for sure though - hang in there!
Sorry to hear that.

UGH
Fingers crossed for the OA
I'm waiting for OA-inviteness also!! Good luck to the hubby...you should take the test too ;-)
That is lame. Hoping you get an OA invite soon!
Has he considered pursuing an alternate cone? The PD list is outrageous. Others have WAY fewer candidates... Just a thought.
Good luck with your journey! It's a tough road but very rewarding in the end.
Sorry to hear it.
Sorry... = (
Thank you all for your kindness. I'm lucky to have you all. It means a lot to me.
Wanna all come over for coffee tomorrow?
Ugh. Bummer. Yuck.
I am so sorry that there wasn't good news at the end of all the wishing and waiting you've done.
I for one say "YES!"....we'll all be over for coffee in an hour.
NKL
Half & half, no sugar, yes, I would love to come over! Seriously, sorry, but hope better news is on its way very soon!
